About this website

About EthiopianBible.com

EthiopianBible.com is an independent educational website dedicated to the Ethiopian Bible, its history, canon, manuscripts and major writings.

Our purpose

Our purpose is to make the Ethiopian biblical tradition easier to understand in English. The site organizes information about the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo canon, the Ge’ez language, ancient manuscripts and books such as Enoch, Jubilees and Meqabyan.

Each guide is written for readers who want clear background before moving into more detailed study. Historical context, church tradition, translation history and modern scholarship are identified carefully so that different kinds of evidence are not treated as the same thing.
